It can be performed either on the face or body and is suitable for all skin types and colors. The treatment involves the use of tiny needles that produce micro-injuries to the skin. How long do I need to keep the platelet-rich plasma on my face?
About 4 hours and then a gentle face wash can be performed.
How often should I do this treatment?
For optimal results, a series of 4 to 6 treatments, 3 to 4 weeks apart.
Is it blood that is applied to the face?
No, platelet-rich plasma is extracted from your own blood and this is applied before and after microneedling. It is a clear to yellow color.
Is there any downtime?
You will be red for about 24 to 48 hours after treatment. Some bruising is possible.
When do I see results?
Results can be seen as early as 2 weeks, but the production of collagen and elastin can continue up to 6 months, which can lead to newer, healthier skin. Doing this treatment in a series and combining it with a healthy skin care regimen can improve overall skin health!
